Aunt Flo’s Cart
In 2022 it was brought to our attention that school nurses had a very small budget for feminine hygiene projects, and several nurses were buying them with money out of their own pocket by mid-year! Some schools were even limited on the number of supplies they were allowed to provide per student. The Locker knew we could help and Aunt Flo Carts were born!
All middle and high schools in GISD received a cart. The carts contain pads, tampons, panties, and travel pouches. The carts are located in the nurses office restroom and students can go in and get the supplies they need. They can even put extras in a travel pouch if they need to have some for home.
This program has been extremely successful! The nurses are very grateful for the supplies, as well as the students. As a result, we are looking for groups to adopt a cart! The Locker can provide you with all the information you need for you or your group just keep the cart stocked at your adopted campus. This is about a $20/month commitment.
